History

Men Educating Men About Violence (MEMAV)  Started as an addition to Advocates Crisis Support services (ACSS) to educate men and  boys about how to  stop abuse and not become abusers themselves. Services are also offered for Men who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  A.C.S.S. a service that started in 1980, with a woman hiding a victim of domestic violence in her basement overnight. Has since turned into a model agency offering assistance, counseling and housing programs for Children and women who are the victims of Domestic and sexual abuse. A.C.S.S. also offers assistance to all victims of crime through Moffat County Victims Assistance Program (MCVAP).

Mission Statement

Men Educating Men about Violence (MEMAV) we are determined to help redefine masculinity, with the education and awareness, so that violence in all forms is not the preferred way to solve disputes and better ways of expressing ourselves evolve.

Goals

1.Help bring awareness to the availability of Help for men who are the victims of sexual assault and Domestic violence.

2. Help bring to the community a description of masculinity that doesn’t promote violence

3. Help menfind better ways of expression, by educating and empowering them with behaviors that are free of violence.
